Brian and Debbie had been dickering over retirement locations since they married in March 2003. Debbie wanted to be close to her family in southeastern Virginia. She also refused to live north of the Mason-Dixon line. Brian, a Navy brat who grew up mainly in Groton, Connecticut, wanted to be within walking distance of a beach.
When threatened with the rocky shores of New England, Debbie persuaded Brian to take a side trip from her family gathering one Christmas to the Outer Banks, where she had spent many happy hours as a teen. To Brian, the view atop the dunes looked like Long Island Sound, and Debbie didn’t argue. Whatever it takes!
After spending 2 years full-time at our place in Corolla, Taylor Made, we decided the Corolla Outback was for horses, not us. Now that we are finally in our new home at MP 10.5, we are enjoying more gas in our tanks and more hours in our day.
