A Silent Prayer
Please, world, treat her kindly,
She's naive and fresh and new.
I can't control her future
that will rest with you.
Give her responsible owners
Who provide her daily needs,
And may she live with kindness.
Wherever her path may lead.
There will be many challenges
In each new situation.
And tho she lacks the gift of speech,
May she learn communication.
She won't fret about tomorrow,
Nor be assessing yesterday;
Imagination will not tease her,
Her reality is today.
She will not measure time
By week or month or year.
Rather by trust and contentiment,
Kindness and lack of fear.
Even now, curiosity calls her.
Her bounderies are soon tried.
But youthful courage fails her
And she returns to my side.
But I can't always be there,
To set her spirit free.
And so I pray to you, world,
Please keep her safe for me. by connie fenner

A Kittens Prayer
I ask for the privilege of not being born....
not to be born until you can assure me of a
home and a master to protect me,
and a right to live,
as long as I am physically able to enjoy life.....
not to be born until my body is precious
and men have ceased to exploit it
because it is cheap and plentifull.

You can never do a kindness too soon
because
You never know how soon it will be too late.
