Destiny's Child is a stunning girl & fitting right in around here. She is pampered & has the run of the place. She loves playing with the other kittens & seems especially fond of this little smoke girl out of Neferkitti. Kim! |
| |
Cleo (on left) her owners say "She runs around like she owns the place. She really is sweet and seems to just love us. She wasn't skidish at all just came right out and started playing." Eva.
Ra (on right) his owner says "He made himself completely at home since the first moment we saw him at the airport. He was not shaken up at all. We took him out of his crate and all he could do was rub on us, and kneed us, he was so happy. He has totally moved in and made himself right at home. Thanks so much and we will stay in touch!" Karen. |

The baby boy is doing great & settling in well. He received a clean bill of health from the vet. He and our bengal are now playing a regular game of chase and rubbing noses. His name is Mister Koosay. He is so friendly and loving. Bob is already very attached to him. Mister is always in his lap. Thank you for the beautiful baby! Becky & Bob
Mister Koosay is doing very well. Koosay is a wild tornado and has spread his toys throughout the house. He loves to play fetch with his feather ball and returns it to us dozens of times to throw it for him. Both of the cats are playing well together now. He is a treasure member of our family! Becky & Bob |

Obviously his fav. place

Just thought I would send you a few pics of Simon. He is getting so big. He has started playing fetch, but only with his favorite toy, a stuffed animal about half his size. He is so friendly and loving. We are so glad to have him. Thanks again, hope you have a wonderful Christmas. Sara |

We love our kitty! He is gorgeous and has an adorable personality. We think that he thinks he is a dog. He loves to be held and lay on our laps. At night he snuggles with us under the covers. He is a purr monster! We are very happy with him. You have been a pleasure to work with and it shows that he was given much love and attention before we adopted him. Thank you again. David & Marie |

Wow what a mau! If you are truly thinking about purchasing an Egyptian Mau, hopefully this note will help you. This kitty is the most unique little bundle of joy. Words cannot completely describe living with this little guy. He is extremely intelligent and fast. He is a quick learner. Loves to be held and snuggled. Along with a head but on my chin. He loves to ride on my shoulders. He loves to talk. When I wake up, he is usually on the pillow above or beside my head. He used to sleep under the covers until he wound up inside of it entering in a small torn spot. Needless to say, the comforter has another tear that I made for his exit. He loves to climb on his cat condo (worth the investment). He sleeps in the top of it sometimes during the day. He has never pawed or scratched me. Well maybe once when I first trimmed his claws when he tried to blast off. Now he just meows to make it known he doesn't approve. Once he jumped up on me and another surface while I was sitting down (wearing shorts). His claws were retracted when on my leg but the others were out on the surface. He follows me room to room. He sits on the clothes hamper and waits for me to get out of the shower. He is the perfect little companion. He brought me his little crinkle ball and put it in my hand two or three days after he moved in. Needless to say, he loves to play fetch and catch. He likes to lay next to me and watch movies. He is fearless, except for the noise of the vacuum cleaner. He doesn't shed. After holding him I have no hair left on my clothes or on the bed. He prefers tap water over spring water. He hasn't required much discipline. A few loud no's at first and moving him away from where he shouldn't be (wiring mainly) is all it took and maybe a squirt bottle at first. Now just a plain firm "no" works. They can sense the tone of your voice. I've been holding him some while typing this as he looks up at the screen. There isn't a day that goes by that I learn something new about him or he makes me laugh. As far as Stephanie, well she is as unique as the breed! She's just good people and sometimes they are hard to come by. I've learned a lot from her. I can't say enough good things about her and my new kitty. Jim

Alex has been a joy since the very first day. He has a great personality and gets along great with his cat brothers and sisters. He loves having his picture taken and is a bit of a 'ham' when he sees the camera. We are sold on the Egyptian Mau Breed. He also seems to like my husband and I egually. He lets us know when he wants to be picked up and loved. Alex has become the lap cat that my husband wanted. Thank you! The Richter's |

Hi Stephanie,
Norman and I have had Silvie for a month now and I thought you might enjoy seeing some pictures of her. She has made friends with my "alpha male" (the vet has his alpha). She is going through her kitten wild phase and she does love her toys. We are thoroughly in love with her.
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and are enjoying a great New Year!
Peggy
Hi Stephanie,(4-16-10)
It's been almost five years since we adopted our little girl from you. Norman and I have so thoroughly enjoyed her and she has been such a fabulous addition to our lives.
We are now considering getting a Black Mau and I immediately thought of you first. Please let me know if have any Black Maus or plan to breed anytime soon.
Thanks,
Peggy Peterson |

Just an update--Ginzu is doing well--took her to the vet she had a very minor eye problem and I needed to get a general exam, introducing her to the vet. I got medicine and ointment, which she has responded to. She jumps on everything but does respond when I say no to certain areas I feel are too high or might cause problems for her. She loves her cat playpen--where she has two beds (one flat and one cozy) carpet on two ledges and play toys--However she likes my pillows as well and likes the run of the place--she usually comes when I call and she definitely determined what she wanted as far as litter boxes (I had more than one--and I find myself scooping two to three times a day--she's extremely particular (even though it's a large litter box) that it doesn't have much in it when she goes--and believe me she checks--she actually goes in and sees how things are and if it's ok, she jumps out and runs around (this is not her having to use the litter box--she does this as a part of routine of checking things out during her play time). If she not satisfied, she scratches and rubs her paws against the side to let me know. I usually make sure I have it done before she has to go again--and she bounces all over the place to let me know. We get along quite well.
I'm quiet in my private time and she has taken to that very well.
Anywho, she's sleep or dozing, which she does after running around like a mad cat-- I say that literally--at the vets--they couldn't believe how frisky she was she was jumping from the exam table to the counter--they could barely weigh her.
OK. I'll speak back with you--she is now 2.75 lbs.--Oh I did take her to work and she ran all over. They were surprised at how when I called her she came--but that's Ginzu--she's an ancient cat with a young soul and cheerful disposition--most thought she didn't have claws--even I--then I remembered you specifically asked that I not declaw her--then I went to clean her face--she has claws--anywho--she does not use them when you pick her up unless she's frightened or wants to get my attention.
OK I'm outta here for now. Have a good evening.

Hi,just wanted to give you some updates about Lucia. The plane was 35 minutes late last night. They brought her out pretty fast, she was meowing. It was late when we brought her home, she was scared of course, but we have been all over her, cuddling. She is a sweet kitten, we love her. She slept in Joshua's room last night, we still have all her food, litter box, etc there. We will move those things out to the living area soon. She is tiny. She has been eating much, and water. We love playing with her. We love her, thank you so much for raising such a beauty. Even the vet said she is a gentle kitten. She is a people kitten. She does follow you. We have a lot of floor space and high ceilings, I think Lucia feels swallowed up in it at times. This is why Joshua's room is her place. We are going to move her litter box and food soon. Do you know what we could put in the litter for the smell, that is safe? We will keep in touch, Jodie |

We have survived the first day so far. Maxwell has the run of most of the lower level. There is not too much for him to get into down there. He loves the carpeting. He rolls back and forth and drags himself across it. It's very funny. The only challenge is the litter box - it's a jumbo and perhaps a little too large for him to step into. I am going to get him a little one today to help him out.
The other two cats are behaving as expected. The geriatric short hair is just annoyed that he has another kitten to train. The one year old Tonkinese is frightened out of his wits. Which does not take much for him because he is not terribly bright to begin with. Good thing he is lovable.
Maxwell has been a tough guy with the shorthair - hissing and arching his back. Which is mostly being ignored. Maxwell also screams when I leave the room, but runs under a chair when I come in. He won't let me pick him up, and I have to corner him to capture him. But once I have him and start petting him, he settles down and starts to purr. Everything will be back to normal in a day or two.
When he wants to be held, he is not bashful about jumping onto my lap. He has also taken command of a leather chair and that is where he takes his naps now. He and the shorthair have abandoned hissing at one another, although they both keep their distance. He and the Tonkinese have not made progress. Harley (the Tonk) is still terrified and is staying in the upper level of the house. (He is a big baby, and as I indicated in another note – not too smart.) Max is eating fine. And after some coaching, is using his separate, kitten size, litter box. This afternoon, several friends came over to see him and he was very sociable. Although he did not want to be held, he interacted with everyone and chased his toys. He has also discovered the aquarium and is fascinated by the fish. It is fun to watch him check out the fish. So, things are moving along and I think he will be just fine.
Maxwell went to the vet this morning for a check up. The vet gave him a clean bill of health and was impressed with what a great looking cat he is. She said he is going to be quite handsome when he is grown. Many of the lab technicians had to stop in and get a good look at him! Max is home now, and it looks like all three cats are on the road to playing well together. The old shorthair let him share a food bowl this morning, and the Tonkinese is allowing Maxwell to get closer to him… Maxwell is full of energy and is running loops, and chasing his toys in the game room. Lastly, like you, I do not support the Leukemia vaccination and instructed the vet to never administer it. The vet agreed it was not necessary. My old short hair was immunized several times when he was younger. I always had mixed feelings about it – and then the vet recommend I stop as she had mixed feelings as well. She indicated that since the cat had been immunized several times and is an inside cat, she saw no benefit and only risks to continuing. But she asked if I would allow a test to confirm Maxwell was negative. I said yes, and as expected he is negative.
Maxwell is doing quite well. I think he wants to be the Alpha cat (and is trying hard), but Bentley (12 year old Shorthair) is not going for it. So, every now and again, Max gets thumped. But he is getting the better of Harley. He jumps on Harley’s tail, Harley runs, and then Maxwell thinks it’s his job to chase Harley. Harley is not terribly intelligent and has not figured out the game. Maxwell has, obviously, and enjoys it quite a bit. On the whole, they are all getting along fine. Max is a wild man. Full of energy, and has lots of bad ideas about what are fun things to do… His worst time is bed time. I think he naps in the evening, and then when it is time to settle in – he goes wild for about an hour. He jumps on the bed, the other cats, and runs around. His very worst behavior is jumping onto the pockets of the pool table and trying to climb up. I yell: “Max, No!” and he just runs to another pocket and tries again. In the mornings, he is the first one up, and expects breakfast to be served immediately. He is a chow hound. I worry that as an adult, I may need to keep a watch on this. As a kitten – he is burning off the calories. When he decides to calm down, he is very affectionate and likes to be held. I work from home about one day a week, and he likes to sleep on my desk while I am working.Maxwell is growing into a very beautiful cat. And he is a welcome addition to my home.
Hi Stephanie,
Sorry for not responding sooner. Yes, I will take some photos this weekend and send to you. Maxwell is getting big and bad. He is about seven months old, and weighs 8 pounds. Some of it is fat - he has turned into a chow hound, so I am watching that. But he is definitely getting big fast now. Funny thing - he is fast, but not a good jumper which frustrates him. The other two cats are Asian breeds with long legs and are excellent jumpers. They can get to places he can't get to - yet. (I know it is a matter of time -- even when he can't jump directly, he figures out alternative routes quickly.)
He is also well on his way to Alpha Cat status. He is obviously a smart cat, and is afraid of very little. He will attack anything that moves. And gives the older cats quite a bit of trouble. Each day, he becomes a little more in charge of things.
But he is also very friendly, and loves being around people. When I have friends over, the other two cats prefer to retreat to quiet areas. Max prefers to be in the room where everyone else is and readily mixes in. When I work in my office, he likes to be held, or stretches out on my desk - scattering papers in the process.
I am not sure if this is the nature of his bread, but he is a talker. When he wants something and is not getting it, he will look straight at me and scream. Loud and clear. When I make a move (usually to feed him), he starts talking and acts like a spoiled kitten. He will also give me grief if the older cats jump up to high places and he can't get there. I will pick him up and put him up high (on top the kitchen cabinets, for example) - he loves it, and jumps down when ready (to the refrigerator top, counter top then floor - don't worry, he does not jump from the cabinet top to the floor). When he can't find me in the house, he cries. And when he purrs, he sounds like a truck. You can hear him across the room. Maxwell definitely has an imposing personality. He is a lot fun, and I am enjoying him. The older two cats are not quite so impressed, but are adjusting. He prefers to sleep on his own - on a couch or under my bed. But in the morning, he jumps on the bed and rousts everyone - me and the older cats. His colors are beautiful. His fur is like silk, and his spots seem to become more vivid as he grows older.
Hi Stephanie,
This is a quick update for you on Max. He is doing great. He is about 12 pounds now, and still growing. Admittedly, he is a little chubby – but he is a big cat! And gentle. Everyone who meets him likes him – and he likes company. He is very territorial. He sleeps at the top of stairwells, or other places where he can see what is going on. He is also mischievous; one of his favorite activities is shredding toilet paper rolls. One thing he has learned from my Tonkinese is to drink from a faucet. He, along with the Tonk, prefers to drink from running water from a faucet. I will send a picture when I can catch them.Take care, and know that Maxwell is in a good home and happy. Dan Ps – he is still trying to be the alpha cat, but the 12 year old Oriental is not buying into that program. Max gets put in his place now and again. But he keeps on trying! As for the Tonk, he has submitted – Max won that one. Also, Max chortles all the time. It’s cool

We just got home from the airport with the little guy and he is absolutely adorable. When I took him out of the crate, he was purring and making biscuits immediately. Thanks a bunch and I'll talk to you soon.

It was a busy day. this was the first time I could get on my email.
I did get her and she was not phased by the travel.
I was amazed by how small she is. My brother has a kitten that is only 2 weeks older than her and he is 2-3 times bigger.
She is so sweet. I was driving home and she wanted attention so bad! I let her out and she layed in my lap the whole drive, she even took a nap. She loves attention and does not like it when there is no one there to pet her. Eric |

I have been a cat person most of my life, so I was excited of the idea of having an exotic breed! I contacted Stephanie via email in regards to her recent litter. She responded immediately. There was one female left, and I put my deposit down. I made all payments through paypal, everything was easy. Stephanie sent regular emails with pics of my growing baby Mau. Working with Stephanie Strother was easy and I now have my beautiful Rabiah here with me. She sleeps right next to me and loves to ride in the car! She also likes to play tug of war and try to pull my comforter off the bed, how funny!

This kitty belongs to Nyla Hughes, she is very happy with her kitty. He is doing great and she says she can't ever imagine how she ever made itthrough life without him. I had him for a while and called him Yoda, but she has renamed him King. He was a wonderful joy to our lives when he was still with us and just as great now with her family. |

I am so happy with Masada and big Thanks to Stephanie for letting me have such a wonderful kitten. Masada is my second Egyptian Mau and never have two cats been so different. While most of the personality traits are the same,Masada is so much more hyper than Naqada. She is constantly on the move and always talking to somebody. She loves to sit in the window and watch everything go by.Masada will play with anything she can get her little paws on, I never know where I'm going to find my watch because she will take it and hide it.She loves to "help" me cook and very willing to taste everything to make sure it's okay for us to eat.Masada never seems to run out of energy and even moves alot in her sleep.Thank you so for my beautiful mau,ParadiseCats Masada of Gallilee.I love her so much and would gladly recommend your cattery to anyone looking for a great kitten. |

Isis arrived safe and sound, though about 45 minutes late. She was SO happy to have us take her out of her carrier! She is WONDERFUL!! So petite and so elegant. And I never saw such a purry kitten - her little motor never stops. She's pretty hyper today - so many new people and animals and places, but she's eating and drinking like crazy and seems to feel ok - as long as she can see one of her new people at all times. If she ever winds up in a spot where she can't see anybody she cries - loudly and pitifully!! And of course one of us comes running. She already has US trained. Pixel and Tootsie are not happy with us, but they'll get over it. Cosmo, the poodle, is fascinated by Isis. She will go up, sniff noses with him, and then fluff up and hiss. Cosmo just can't figure her out. Wayne is thrilled with her - he had no idea what I had gotten for him. Last night she slept right by my head in one of the cubbyholes in the headboard of our bed. She is a doll!
Isis already has all of us wrapped around her little paw...well, all of us except Pixel, the former "baby" of the household. But she'll come around! And Isis can't quite figure out what to make of Cosmo - he tries so hard to be friends, and, well, a couple of the pictures show what she thinks about THAT.
Carolyn Wright
We are SOOO crazy about her - she is the loviest little thing I could ever imagine! We call her our little purr-ball. She cuddles with us all the time, and has to be involved in everything. She is still very petite - about 5 1/2 pounds. I don't think she's going to get much bigger - her proportions are looking much more cat-like than kitten-like, but she is the undisputed queen of the house. She bosses everyone around, even the big dogs and Rebecca's 20lb cat, Tootsie! She and Pixel are great pals, and love to wrestle and race around the house. Cosmo, the poodle, tries to join in, but Isis just pops him on the nose and he comes to me for comfort. Cosmo is also very perplexed when I throw a toy and Isis races to "fetch" it before he can get to it. Occasionally Isis brings it back too! She has also learned to drink from a glass of water (Pixel taught her that) and she likes to play with the water coming out of the faucet in the sink.
You sure know how to raise wonderful kittens!!! Thank you again so much :) Carolyn
