TWO YEAR OLD FILLIES ON THE FLY

     French Performance Arabians is fortunate to have inherited a proven breeding program along with our horses. Dr. Stephen Hollis spent many years gathering brood mares and stallions which have produced the type of horses that have made him one of the top breeders of Arabian race horses in the the country. We continue to breed for the same type Dr. Hollis was looking for and still actively seek his opinions and advise from one breeding season to the next. With a successful breeding program in place , we began to look for things we could do to make our horses superior in other ways.

   Genetics control the conformation, athletesism and intelligence of a horse, but people control the trust and confidence they will need to respond willingly and enthusiastically when it is time to be trained.

   Genetics are set in place at the time of conception. Our foals introduction to the world of humans and learning begins shortly after birth. We believe that if we teach our foals to trust but respect humans and to enjoy learning and handling early in life they will be ready when the time comes to begin their careers.

   While learning these things from us are important , they also need to learn to be horses. Our horses are raised in pastures separated by age and sex. While playing with their pasture mates , they learn to compete and feel comfortable and confident running in a group of horses. During their play they get lots of exercise which strengthens their legs , builds muscle and gives them plenty of practice at perfecting their agility.

   It is our goal to produce Arabian race horses known for their ability to win races, their sound minds and the pleasure they give to their owners and trainers. Visitors are always welcome at our farm.
